I gotta look at this for how long????

Ugh....we are on our way to South Carolina to visit my girl Ang! We are now in Tennessee, almost to Ashville!

Word Filled Wednesday

Philippians 3:13-14
No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.
May God make your year a happy one!

Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead

I wish you all a
Happy New Year!

Christmas is over, dreaming of vampires and twittering in my sleep...

Hi y'all!!! I'm still in my jammies and have done not ONE thing today! Pitiful! I'm so behind on your blogs! I caught up on a few today but haven't made it to all of them yet. I'm trying!

I just want to say first of all that our Christmas Eve candle light service at church was beautiful and it snowed inside! I wish you all could have seen it!

Christmas day was wonderful and Merry! My kids got up at 5:00 am! Ugh! I know J set his alarm!!! He's killin me! You are 17! I'm sure he did it for Moo or she talked him into it. But we slowly got up and went downstairs for gift giving. It was great! The kids were happy with everything they received. It was over in a matter of 40 minutes and you know what I did??? I went back to bed! I would have been worth NOTHING if I didn't get a teeny bit more sleep. Moo ended up sleeping with me and she didn't get up until 10:00am.

I cooked (ok..Mr. Mom did it! But I bought it....) four lbs of bacon for my sister's big annual breakfast. We ate at 11:00 and it was FABULOUS! Thanks Sheli!! The whole family was there including Grandparents. And the best part of the whole morning??? Brian, my BIL, read to all of us the Christmas story from the Bible. It was beautiful! Thanks Brian for taking the time to do that for us!

Then we got to watch their grand kids and kids open more gifts. The smiles are the best on Christmas morning, aren't they???

We went home for a little while and than back to Dad's for dinner. We had the best ham ever, thanks Mr. Mom! Noodles, rolls, mashed taters, dressing....yummo! The kids opened their gifts from Pop and we goofed of for a while, cuz that's what we do best. Then headed home all tuckered out!

I got up yesterday, got the boxes from the attic and took down every sign of Christmas and put it all away. I know Bah Hum Bug! I'm just not a fan of seasonal decorating and it's in the way! And my house is clean.....downstairs....upstairs, not so much! I'll get to it!

I went to bed and dreamed of vampires..could it be my obsession with Edward???? I dreamed that I was up in the trees and Alice and several others were around me...not sure where Edward dare he leave my side! I had long hair past my hiney and it was thick! Not sure why that popped in there and stuck in my head. Maybe because I wish for long luscious hair everyday! That's all I remember of the weird. I'm almost finished with the third book! I will finish it this weekend. I will....

I also Twittered in my dreams this week. I need a life.....

I have loads of pictures but I need to get them on Flickr and then I will post them hopefully tomorrow. I can't wait to catch up on everyone's Christmas and see pictures!

We had a wonderful time with family and friends this week and a very Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas too.

Side note: Does anyone have a NuWave Infrared Cooker????

Love ya!

Merry Christmas to all my friends!

Hello all! It's 7:30 on the night before Christmas Eve. I left work early today and took my little Red/Opie to get an oil change. That was his Christmas gift. : ) There was a 2 hour wait at "the" WalMart..ugh! And y'all know how much I despise that place and all the fake reindeer in the parking lot! You know what I mean? The silly fake antlers and red noses on all the trucks and cars?? It's like we are being invaded!

So, I left Red/Opie there with the promise from the employee's that he would be well taken care of. Mr. Mom met me and we did a little more shopping. Mr. Mom thought it would be funny to hold on to me and drag me across the ice...hahaha! It was funny...until I almost broke a hip! Then all heck broke loose!!! It started raining and then freezing! BAD NEWS! I was slippin' and slidin' and it was a sheet of ICE! What would normally take me about 20 min took me an over an hour to get home! And boy was I tense when I got there! But we are all safe and sound in a warm house with the fireplace roaring.

My evening is a little noisy though. Mr. Mom (my hubby), Mr. Clean (Marchelle's hubby) and J-Rod(the neighbor) are sooo flippin' loud people! Can you hear them??? Lordy B! They are playing Wii....we've moved from bowling to baseball. Here's some photos for your viewing enjoyment....

Like a bunch of 11 yr. old boys!!! Pray for me please! I think I'm heading up for a bubble bath and leave them to have GUY time!

Side note to self - get your camera out! Blackberry pictures stink!

Merry Christmas!!! Enjoy! I wish we could all get togther for a group hug!!! {{HUGS}}

The dreaded book report...

M is a procrastinator when it comes to projects! Just like her Mom....I work better on a very close deadline! No need to hurry! This report is due on Friday, this Friday and she has known for weeks. I could have bugged and griped about it but I let her work on her own time as long as it gets done and turned in on time. So...guess what? She did it tonight, 1 day before the deadline! I sat and supervised and of course, took pictures (horrible blackberry pics). I think she did a great job!

Here's the book she read - it had to be a mystery:

And here she is diligently working on it:

And WA LA (sp?) the finished product:

Back -

I'm just glad it's over...I'm not much for homework. But I do love to watch her do a project and be creative!

A Thank You & a Late Wordless Wednesday Photo

First I want to say a big THANK YOU for all the kind words that you left for me regarding my friend Angie. You all are so kind and your comments really touched me. It's wonderful to know that so many people are praying for her family. Angie will truly be missed. And thank you for visiting Amy's blog and praying for her and her family. I know she appreciates every one of your comments.

Next I will leave you with my Wordless Wednesday photo - this is my Dad, again, just being himself. He got a new camera, I'm not even sure what to say but he kinda scares me somedays....

Happy day turned sad...

Hello all. Today was a great day turned terribly sad. We headed out to a wedding, which was lovely by the way. After the wedding we headed to the reception. I got a phone call when we were almost there. My friend Angie passed away at 12:30 today from complications of cancer.

I was stunned, shocked and overwhelmed. I had just talked to her Aunt yesterday. I had not gone to see her at home for fear of bringing germs into their home. But I have been calling to let her know that we had been praying, thinking of her and love her. And now she's gone. I hate it that there wasn't a chance to say goodbye and to let her know, one last time that I loved her and most importantly to tell her what a wonderful Mom she was and to thank her for the many times she spent with my daughter....I'm rambling and can't seem to put into words what I want to say.

She has 2 beautiful daughters, 14 and 9 and her husband. I am overwhelmed with sadness for her family, especially her girls.

I am sad but also so happy for Angie now that she's in Heaven and is no longer sick.

Can I ask you all a favor? I know you don't know her but will you please put her family on your prayer list? I would really appreciate it.

Public Restrooms

Do y'all get grossed out at public restrooms? Seriously! I really get totally over the top grossed out! I don't want to use them BUT I have this issue, when I have to go, I gotta GO! I used to be able to hold it for days but nope, not anymore. Maybe it's age? I don't know but I have to go at every stop and sometimes more than once while I'm there!

You would think that places like Kohl's, Target, etc. would have decent clean bathrooms! And don't even get me started on the bathrooms at Walmart! Downright filth! I went to Kohl's tonight with M. Of course we had to head straight to the restroom before we could do any shopping. I open one stall door, UGH, is all I can say. It was seriously gross. Open 2nd stall door...OH.MY.WORD...what happened in there???? Really? Not one person that works in this store has been in here to see what's happening in here?! Come on!!! I finally find a "decent" stall, try to hover and head for the sink to wash, when I really wanted to shower! Oh and aiming? Is it really that hard to clean up the rim if you miss? Turn around and peak before you leave the stall, if you dribble a little, grab some TP and wipe it up. This just totally boggles my mind!

Pure laziness at Kohl's...2 HUGE rolls of towels sitting right beside the sinks in water, getting wet! Why? Put them in the dispenser! I'm telling you...I was appalled and disgusted. And I avoid touching all door handles!

So, am I wrong? Do you use the restrooms in public places? Can you wait if you need to go?

Thank you for letting me throw this little rant out there. I'm still disgusted and I might make a phone call...I just might.....
